Missions

UMW Mission Programs

Dorcas Sewing Day is on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the Fellowship Hall.  The Circles are urged to have several ladies attend each month, but anyone is welcome to attend.  We collect sheets for rolling bandages, materials for bibs and lab robes which are donated to our local nursing home.

UMW Reading Program encourages members to enlarge their concepts of missions by reading at least one book from each area annually.  The four designated areas of reading are:  Education for Mission, Spiritual Growth, Social Action and Nurturing for Community.

Response Magazine and New World Outlook are United Methodist Women's answer to Jesus' commandment "love your neighbor."  Matt.22.39

United Methodist Women change the world by our channels of "Mission Giving" which is a new term designating the five areas of our annual financial support.  (1)  Pledge to Mission, (2) Special Mission Recognition, (3) Gift to Mission, (4) Gift in Memory and (5) World Thank Offering.

The United Methodist Women support our local church by donating to INGATHERING with Health Kits, Sewing Kits, School Kits, Layette Kits, and Flood Buckets.

The Arkansas School of Christian Missions, held in late July/early August, presents classes to help members in local units develop mission concepts and increase participation in global needs of mission projects.
